Respected Elders; Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly; Honoured Guests; Esteemed Founder Members, Sheikh Thafier; Mr Mohamed; our colleagues from Gauteng and KZN. We the ladies of ICSA Hajjah Kulthum Samaai; Hajjah Bahia Greef; Sediqua Lodewyk and myself greet you in the name of universal peace and luv.
We begin in the name of Allah – Most Kind, Most Merciful.
Allah SWT without Whom nothing is possible. We thank Allah SWT for facilitating this launch.
We send salawaats and salaams to our beloved Nabi Mogamad SAW, his family and his noble companions.
We give praise to Allah, who granted us with the Gift of Islam and Imaan. And Praise is solely due to Allah, who has classed us to be from the Ummah of Rasullulaah SAW. And here we thank our parents who raised us as Muslims. May Allah SWT grant them and all deceased Jannatul Firdous – Ameen.
Today is a great day for the ladies of ICSA. We thank Sheik Thafier and The Board of ICSA for affording us the opportunity to be able to announce that ICSA will be forming a Women’s Organization. We still have to finalize the name.
My colleagues and I feel both excited and humbled when we sthink of all the possibilities that lies ahead.
The intention is to, with the Koedrat of Allah SWT focus on the needs of women in today’s world as we know it.
There are certain trends coming through that shows us that some of us are experiencing tough times, Whether it is trauma or grief because of the loss of a loved one, or a marriage gone wrong, or loss of a child to drugs. Some of us are single parents and some of us find ourselves alone, now that all the children are married, we suddenly find we have nothing to do.We have therefore asked ourselves, what can we do to make it better, what can these women do to make things better for themselves.
Firstly, we want our sisters to know that every women is a women of note, every women is a women of worth. Secondly, Every women has potential but more importantly every women is essential to the healing or remedying of her own situation.
Therefore the ladies of ICSA have decided that they want to offer support, they want to offer information, they will host talks on topics of interest to women. Topics like, marriage, divorce, bereavement, culture, socialization, the elderly, health, practices and rights of passage.
The ICSA Women’s Organization will be open to all women from the age of 18 and upwards.
Together we will consult with each other so that we may arrive at our Name, Mission Statement, our Vision, Constitution, Code of Conduct etc. so that everyone who belongs to the Organization can take ownership and make it their own.
We will put into place core values that will guide us insha-Allah.
The Main Core value will ofcourse be “For Allah”, afterwhich we will adopt “Purpose; Peace; Unity; Growth; Healing; Kindness; Love” or anything else that the Ladies feel should be incorporated as a core value.
The ultimate aim insha-Allah would be to provide women with the information, interpersonal skills and coping techniques they need to live a fulfilling life insha-allah.
In closing, Insha-Allah, with Allah’s Blessings and Guidance, it will happen, it is already happening. The ladies of the ICSA Women’s Focus Group will put into place a platform inspired by passion and created with soul…..And Allah Knows.
There is a saying that goes ” one has to listen very carefully, because sometimes opportunity knocks very softly. We therefore speak to all the beautiful ladies hereto day, here is your opportunity, we ask you to please join us, ICSA needs you, the Ummah needs you.
Wal ghamdullilaahi Rabbil Allameen, Ameen, Ameen Yaa Rabbal Allameen.
